Andra Douglas, Studio at 620, and Diane Bailey Morton
Defined by the courageous spirit of the 100+ women's tackle football teams throughout the world, and inspired by the diversity of the players, Andra offers this work as a tribute to the female football players of all leagues and ages fueled by the force of their convictions. Providing refuge from the brazen commercialism of the NFL, are poetic expressions, depicting the close-up emotions of the athletes and coaches whose often impenetrable eyes and inscrutable countenance give little away. Andra Douglas, originally from Zephyrhills, FL, has lived in New York for over thirty years where she acquired the NY Sharks, a women's tackle football team, for which she also quarterbacked. Shortly afterwards, Andra established FINS UP, a foundation that strengthens young women's self esteem through participation in team sports.

Gladiola
Studio at 620, Colleen Johnson, and Christopher Rutherford
by Colleen Johnson Directed by Christopher Rutherford Time changes things-people, perspective, relationships... Gladiola explores the role of marriage in society — whether marriage is necessary to have a fully integrated life and whether an unhappy marriage is preferable to none at all. The main character must decide what is more valuable to him, a supportive and caring friendship or a damaged romantic relationship. His grown children face their own struggles as a result of the sudden instability of their parents’ 30-year marriage. After a successful reading of the play in 2017, we now present the first fully staged production of this work by local writer Colleen Johnson.
