Abstract
Drawing that depicts life in a Darfuri village before and during an attack by the Sudanese military. The top part of the drawing shows ordinary village life before the attack, including buildings, a woman taking care of her children and animals, and children playing. The bottom part of the drawing shows how the village was attacked from helicopter and by soldiers with machine guns while the villagers slept. Also shows how those who tried to escape were shot.

A child's illustration in pen, pencil, and crayons on lined paper that depicts two different scenes of the same location at different times. The top of the drawing shows a village during peacetime, including a person manning a market stall, children playing jump rope, a woman feeding livestock, an apple tree, a quite mosque, and a few other stick figures milling around. The bottom image of the village show it under violent attack, with airplanes and helicopters dropping ordinance on the buildings and soldiers armed with assault weapons shooting the villagers and their homes. Several captions in Arabic are written throughout.
