Abstract
“Lake Legacies, Black and Beautiful” is a short, observational meditation on the natural surroundings of Lake Rogers Park and other nearby bodies of water as witnesses and repositories of history that reverberate with the identities and deeds of Black families and figures. The observations culminate in a vision of subtropical comfort that simultaneously echoes past lives and assures the respite of the present.
