Abstract
This collection includes a variety of scholarly non-fiction and general interest fiction and non-fiction related to gay and lesbian studies, with a strong emphasis on materials related to gay male history, culture, and literature. The items were received in a June 2016 donation from Les, a resident of Hillsborough County. A native of Hawaii who came of age in California, Les met Richard, a man who grew up along the coast of southeast Florida. For more than four decades, their friendship, partnership, and marriage took them to careers and opportunities in various areas of the United States, as well as travels throughout the world. In the spring of 2016, Richard passed away. The materials in this collection form the core of their extensive library that focused on LGBTQ+ history, although the larger collection of monographs acquired by Richard and Les covered everything from aviation to railroads, popular fiction to technical papers. Those other materials were not included in this donation.
