Abstract
"This paper suggests that all the arguments concerning the primacy of maritime vs. agricultural subsistence on the coast during the Cotton Preceramic are overly simplistic. They do not take fully into account the complexity and unique characteristics of the Peruvian coastal environment, and tend to ignore the ability to adapt to temporal environmental variation."
