Abstract

Florida Park Service naturalist Thomas L. Francis (left) and Horace Loftin (right) examine a brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) that was found dead at St. Andrews State Recreation Area in Bay County, Florida, with an adult double-crested cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) in its pouch on December 5, 1980. The photo was published in Florida Field Naturalist Volume 9, Number 4 (1981) on pages 62-63.
