Note
The Strand Theatre opened on October 15, 1915, with the silent movie "The Juggernaut," on the northeast corner of Tampa St. and Twiggs St. in downtown Tampa. With shallow shops at the front, the theatre held 1000 seats and a pipe organ. It closed in 1931. Florida State Theaters took over the movie house in October 1942, branding it the New Strand. It closed in the late 1940s. The building was demolished in 2006.
