Note

The Hotel Floridan opened in 1927, designed by architects G.A. Miller and Francis J. Kennard. It had 19 floors and 316 rooms. At the time, the hotel was the tallest building in Tampa and would be until 1966 when the Franklin Exchange Building was built. The hotel's bar, the Sapphire Room, was a popular spot for airmen training at Drew Field during World War II. The hotel closed in 1989, although it still exists as a hotel under a different name and chain.
