Abstract
Meyer's 1850 map of Florida is derived from the Tanner/Mitchell Universal atlas map of 1839, and similar to the 1845 map, complete with detail maps of Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Saint Augustine, and the water routes noted in the upper and lower margins. In this updated map, Lake Okeechobee is in its proper location and is no longer referred to as Lake Macaco, however it is referred to as "Lace Kee-Cho-Bee or Macaco." Meyer's map does reference boundaries of Indigenous lands and routes across the peninsula used by the Indigenous peoples.
