Abstract
Terry Howard interviews Florida fisherman Mason Bowen. Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, in 1962, Mason, the son of commercial fisherman Charles Wood Bowen Jr., moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida at a very young age and began fishing and selling his catch as early as 10 years old. Mason acquired his first fishing boat at age 18 and has been a commercial fisherman himself ever since. Throughout the interview, Mason discusses popular Florida fishing locations, practices, species, and tools, providing insight into how these trends have evolved over the decades. Mason also describes the changes he has witnessed in fish populations, fishing regulations, and the greater commercial fishing industry.
