Abstract
When this program was recorded in 1998, the United Nations was marking the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Historian John Hope Franklin (January 2, 1915 – March 25, 2009), the author of the 1947 book From Slavery to Freedom, offered his perspective on the declaration and other issues.
