Author and conservationist Marjory Stoneman Douglas (April 7, 1890 -- May 14, 1998) is profiled in this 1993 program. She talks about her various books, including River of Grass and Voice of the River, as well as her lifelong defense of the Everglades. The recordings of Stoneman Douglas come from a 1989 interview by an unidentified journalist.
