Abstract

In this 2008 program, Marjorie Harris Carr (March 26, 1915 – October 10, 1997), one of Florida's greatest environmental activists, is profiled. She may be best remembered for her crusade to stop construction of the Cross Florida Barge Canal. Peggy MacDonald, teacher in Alachua County; and University of Florida historian Jack Davis contribute.
