Abstract

This 1996 program is about Leroy Collins, who served as Florida's governor from 1955 to 1960. Florida State University professor Leo Sandon talks about the governor's moderate views on civil rights. Collins is especially remembered for his televised March 1960 speech on the moral necessity to end segregation.
