Abstract
The Highwaymen, a group of Florida African-American landscape artists from the Fort Pierce area, are the topic of this 1996 radio report. Alfred “Beanie” Backus is often credited for inspiring and teaching these painters. Jim Fitch, Corrine Gale, Zanobia Jefferson, James Gibson, and Mary Ann Carroll contribute.
