Abstract
Drawing that depicts Darfuri civilians trying to defend themselves against the Janjaweed and the Sudanese military.
Alt Text
A child's pencil sketch on graph paper that depicts the various forms of attack that were employed when their village was destroyed. A helicopter with a camouflage pattern is seen dropping circular objects, presumably some kind of ordinance, and there are two trucks with mounted machine guns whose backs are full of armed men. A gunman on foot is seen lying on the ground in a manner similar to a military sniper, and a second man on foot fires his weapon at the helicopter, likely representing a villager trying to fight back against the onslaught.
