Abstract
Ventura De La Torre was a truck driver in the 80th Infantry Division, which liberated Buchenwald on April 12, 1945. One of the division's original members, he arrived in Europe in August 1944; their first combat was at Argentan later that month. In this interview, De La Torre describes going into Buchenwald and seeing the prisoners, and his reaction to them.
