Abstract
This dataset consists of species-level benthic and planktic foraminiferal assemblages identified from sediment cores taken throughout the northern Gulf of Mexico with relation to the Deepwater Horizon and the Southern Gulf of Mexico in relation to the Ixtoc 1 platform.
Purpose
This dataset was developed to determine the impact and recovery of benthic infauna and epifauna related to subsurface petroleum releases in the Gulf of Mexico. It was also created to determine the amount of Deepwater Horizon and Ixtoc petroleum incorporated in to foraminiferal calcite.
