Abstract

This dataset reports modeled food web output data from the West Florida shelf (WFS) for three cases: 1965-1966, 2001-2002, and 2010-2011. The daily food web interactions on the WFS were defined in a two-dimensional model by 36 state variables, 29 explicit and 7 implicit. For each simulated day, depth, plankton abundance, and nutrient data are included. Plankton were grouped into large diatoms (Rhizosolenia), small diatoms (Skeletonema), autotrophic microflagellates, heterotrophic microflagellates, Trichodesmium, Karenia brevis, Cocholodinium, Larvaceans, Centropages, and fish. Nutrient composition includes: ammonium, nitrate, phosphate, silicate, dissolved iron, dissolved inorganic carbon, labile dissolved organic nitrogen, refractory dissolved organic nitrogen, dissolved organic phosphorus, colloidal iron, and labile dissolved organic carbon. Bacteria are grouped as ammonifying bacteria and nitrifying bacteria. Fecal pellet/detritus abundance is also included.
