Abstract
This dataset contains sediment core photographs collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruises WB-2010-08, WB-1109 and WB-1110 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2010-08-11 to 2010-12-09. Sediment cores were longitudinally split and photographed with a Nikon D5100 digital camera with a scale in metric units (cm and mm) for a visual representation of sediment stratigraphy, color, and visual properties. The dataset contains an excel spreadsheet with the photograph filename, core ID, date, location and depth of sediment core collection. Cruise documentation was provided for each of the R/V Weatherbird II cruises. The cruises were led by chief scientists Dr. Benjamin Flower (WB-1109) and Dr. David Hollander (WB-2010-08 and WB-1110).
