Abstract
This dataset contains benthic macrofauna abundance data from sediment samples collected at various locations throughout the southern Gulf of Mexico. The samples were collected in July and August of 2015 with a multicorer and processed in early 2016.
Purpose
To generate species abundance counts in the southern Gulf of Mexico.

This dataset is organized into two subdirectories (…\C-IMAGE_Escobar\Samples_EMorales\station\filename and …\C-IMAGE_Escobar\Samples_LJemenez\station\filename). The file name includes the station, replicate (1-3) and sample section [L1 (0-1 cm), L2 (1-3 cm), L3 (3-5 cm), L4 (5-10 cm)]. Each spreadsheet has three tabs. The “Followup” and “Metadata Macro” tabs contain information about the sample collection and processing dates (MM/DD/YYYY), sample location (DDM), lists the individual(s) responsible for handling and processing the sample, and additional descriptive information about the field work and lab work associated with this file. The “Lab. Macro” tab contains abundance information about collected from the processed sample.
