Abstract
Density of invasive lionfish (fish/100m^2) on natural and artificial reefs in the northern Gulf of Mexico between 2010 and 2014. Lionfish were collected for diet analysis quarterly over one year between March 2013 and March 2014. Diet (%M) data from lionfish was collected and analyzed for factors of habitat type (natural versus artificial reef), season and size class.
Purpose
Observe trends in density and diet of the newly invasive red lionfish (Pterois volitans) in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
