Abstract
Erin Chisholm and Priscilla Da Costa speak with Michael Breen about his life history. Breen, born in Ireland in 1940, speaks of his childhood in Ireland – from churning butter with his brothers and sisters to playing instruments with his family – and his decision to move from Ireland to New York City for employment reasons. Breen discusses his Celtic heritage and how it has impacted his life in America – including his community, his careers, and his hobbies. Breen also makes special mention of notable people he has played music for in his bagpipe band, such as Fred Astaire, Roy Rogers, and Malcolm Forbes.
