Abstract

"As We Fall" is an evening length dance theater piece that exposes the struggles of contemporary life. What happens when we become slaves to our likes and dislikes? What happens when our sense of right and wrong gets clouded by what feels good and what doesn't? What happens when we become so self-involved that our actions no longer reflect a sense of empathy or love? As We Fall depicts the falling of our human intellect as we become emotionally driven beings, and sheds light on all that gets torn down in that path. It demonstrates the emptiness that unveils when impulsive behavior takes over and we become animals. Can we maintain hope?
