Abstract

The Studio@620 presents “Broken Lives Illustrated”, an art exhibit and film screening, on Friday May 2, 2014 beginning at 6:00 PM. Artwork will be on display with film beginning at 8:00 PM. Artist and Filmmaker will be on hand during the event to talk about their works. Donations accepted at the door. Broken Lives Illustrated is a collaborative project by Nick Brengle and Jake Troyli, fusing film and art. The exhibit will consist of a screening of the feature length documentary, directed by Nick Brengle, standing alongside Jake Troyli’s pen and ink illustrations, which are showcased in the film. The film consists of interviews with 12 of saint Pete’s homeless population, telling their individual stories, juxtaposed with footage of Jake Troyli translating these people into fine art.
