Abstract
Opened in 1979, this building has entrances on the corners that penetrate the high berm and lead to first or second floor open hallways. The hallways run along the periphery of the building and are flanked by moat-like gardens along the nearly perpendicular retaining wall of the berm. The third story, containing faculty offices, has deeply recessed ribbon windows and looks like a pillbox bunker with slots. Interior rooms on the first and second stories are windowless. Skylights give onto courtyard-like spaces between offices and the third floor. The masonry was constructed in panels before being hung on anchors in the concrete walls. This is a view of the main lobby.
