Abstract
Built in 1968, this is a one-story building surrounded and divided by brick walls and piers that are sectioned and spaced at right angles. Some are free-standing, while others are topped by concrete lintels/beams or glass. In the reception area, steps lead to offices on three sides. Four different roof levels allow for clearstory lighting throughout. Modest at first glance, closer inspection shows a complex arrangement of planes and levels that make for a highly accomplished work by architect Rick Rados. Despite its artistic value, the building was torn down because the land under it was too expensive for a single-story building. This is an interior view of the reception area, looking north. Located at 1509 North Westshore Boulevard.
