Abstract
In 1906, John M. Long donated the site and for two years there was a building-fund drive. William Jennings Bryan laid the cornerstone. Of the original ground floor facade little is left, since it was remodeled to accommodate stores, but the brickwork of the rest shows fine craftsmanship and care. A plaque in the wall on the corner reads: "Christ Jesus Himself Being the Cornerstone. 1908." This view is the south facade.
