Abstract
The Florida Central Chapter of the American Institute of Architects gave this building a Design Overture '85 Award. Where in the traditional building, moldings provided much of the expression, here the architects depend on precision in joints and careful selection of surface texture and color. The entrance and court on ground level are especially successful in terms of scale, orientation, and circulation. The court has a gallery for the mezzanine story, is open to the parking garage to the north, and is connected by means of an open hall, which cuts through the building, to the south entrance. This is a view from the south.
