Abstract
Bentley Plummer shares his family connection to Zion Cemetery in Tampa, Florida. As the family genealogist, he discovered that his great-grandmother, Rachel Williams, and his aunt, Jennie Jerlean Williams, are buried there. Jennie was born on August 31, 1913, to Robert L. Williams and Lila Crane Williams, and died on January 13, 1914. Robert and Lila were the parents of Plummer’s mother, Sarah Williams Plummer. He emphasizes the importance of recognizing the history of Zion Cemetery and the role of Rachel Williams as a matriarch whose support contributed to her sons’ success in Tampa’s cigar industry.
