Abstract
Jay Plummer, a descendant of Rachel Williams buried in Zion Cemetery, discusses what he knows of Zion Cemetery's history. Jay and his brother Bentley Plummer researched their family history and, in the process, discovered their connection to Zion Cemetery primarily through getting a copy of the death certificate for Rachel Williams. Jay’s connection to great grandmother, Rachel Williams, is through his mother, Sarah Williams Plummer, whose father, Robert L. Williams, is Rachel Williams’ son. Jay shares his knowledge on his family's genealogy, including information about a dry goods store in Tampa owned by his grandfather, Robert L. Williams, and the fact that his mother Sarah Williams Plummer was educated at Bennett College and that her sister, Jennie Jerlean Williams, is also buried in Zion Cemetery.
