Abstract
- In 2024, Hurricanes Helene and Milton forced the evacuation of 53 healthcare facilities and triggered deployment of ~3,000 rescue personnel in Hillsborough County.
- Disaster relief organizations provided shelter, meals, and other resources to ~20,000 affected residents.
- Post-hurricane reports call for more horizontal coordination between different types of local organizations.
- Collaborative governance can help vulnerable populations achieve sustainable development goals post-disaster.
