Abstract
In one embodiment, a system for monitoring heart rate variability including an electrode configured to be placed against a userâs chest and generate heart beat data and a data collection and processing device that receives the heart beat data from the electrode, the data collection and processing device being configured to execute a heart rate variability program configured to continually determine the userâs heart rate variability in real time based upon the heart beat data and to determine whether or not the user is in physiological distress based upon the determined heart rate variability.
