Abstract
This lecture, delivered at the University of South Florida Libraries, commemorates the centennial of the 1916 Easter Rising and examines the role of Irish Americans in supporting Irish republican movements. Speakers discuss Irish American nationalism, organizations such as Clan na Gael and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, fundraising, propaganda, military training, and political advocacy in the United States from the late eighteenth century through the early twentieth century.
