Abstract
On March 31st, 2010, Bill Garrison, Dean of the USF Libraries, welcomed a standing-room-only crowd to the Tampa Library's Grace Allen Room for a talk on his new book, The Liberators: America's Witnesses to the Holocaust. Rich with powerful, previously unpublished details from Hirsh's interviews with over 150 U.S. soldiers who liberated Nazi death camps, The Liberators is a vital addition to World War II literature and a stirring testament to Allied courage in the face of unimaginable atrocities. In a generous gesture, Mr. Hirsh donated the audio recordings of these interviews to the USF Libraries.
