Abstract

In this oral history clip, blacksmith Ken Platt discusses his transition from dairy farming to traditional blacksmithing. Platt describes learning blacksmithing techniques at the John C. Campbell Folk Art School, where he learned hand-forging alongside modern metal fabrication, and discusses demonstrating and teaching the craft at the festival.
