Abstract
In this oral history Andy Huse interviews the Simpson family about their history with the Tampa Theatre. Rhett Simpson and his wife Stephanie Simpson describe their family’s love for the Tampa Theatre that has been passed down through generations. The Simpson family shares their personal experiences and connections to the theater, highlighting its significance as a community space for memories, growth, and engagement. The parents of Rhett Simpson, June and Tom Simpson, discuss how they raised their children with a love for music and the arts at the Tampa Theatre whilst also describing how they built their own mini-Tampa Theatre in their home. The speakers emphasized the theater's emotional significance and the importance of family and community.
