Abstract

Dr. Janna Jones, author, screenwriter, and professor of Creative Media and Film at Northern Arizona University, details her experience with the Tampa Theatre. She describes her journey conducting research for her book, The Southern Movie Palace: Rise, Fall, Resurrection, which highlights the historic movie palaces she visited in the South. Dr. Jones compares the Tampa Theatre to those historic theaters, illustrating their history and the types of films shown.
