Abstract
Jeff Shear, a partner at Shankman Leone Professional Association, has served as chairman and member of Tampa Theatre’s Board of Directors. In this oral history, Shear shares his family history with the Tampa Theatre and describes his grandparents' first night after moving to Tampa. Coincidentally, the night his grandparents moved was the opening night of Tampa Theatre. Shear illuminates becoming involved with the board and the hurdles he encounters while working with Tampa Theatre. Through his experience, he unfurls his knowledge of law and how it provides insight into assisting Tampa Theatre throughout the years. Shear recounts changes to downtown Tampa over the years and emphasizes the love the people of Tampa have for the historic theater.
