Abstract

In this oral history, Gary Ratliff recounts his experience as the former stage manager at the Tampa Theatre. Ratliff speaks about how he first came to work for Tampa Theatre and his experience working there up until his retirement. Gary Ratliff provides a unique look into the upkeep of a historic theatre as he recounts some of the day-to-day duties and responsibilities required for maintenance. Ratliff describes how the theatre has changed over the years and recalls what the theatre scene in downtown Tampa was like in the sixties. Gary Ratliff highlights how technology used in Tampa Theatre has evolved.
