Abstract

The exterior of the log-and-shingle cabin that sat on the waterfront of Lake Thonotosassa at Shangri-La, a formerly USF-owned recreation area in Thonotosassa, Florida. The house was built by a dentist named Dr. Malcolm Smith in 1929, who named the property "Shangri-La" after the paradise of the same name in James Hilton's 1933 novel Lost Horizon.
