Note

This is an Attic relief funerary stele from the Classical Greek period, in the mid 4th century BCE. Depicted in a dexiosis (handshake) symbol, a common symbol of farewell, emotional bond, or final greeting between the living and deceased. A seated woman is seated on a cushioned throne, draped in a traditional chiton and himation. Before her is a standing man, whose hands she's clasps to say Farwell. A third figure stands behind them, typical of a multi-figure family memorial composition. All of the heads are missing, making it harder to identity the subjects. This object is included in the Skulpturensammlung, part of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, in the Albertinum in Dresden, Germany.
