Note
The Pyramids of Giza are the only surviving structures of the ancient world's Seven Wonders and were built during Egypt's 4th Dynasty Old Kingdom. They are dedicated for three pharaohs; Khufu, his son Khafre, and his grandson Menkaure. They are located on a limestone plateau west of the Nile, included in a royal mortuary complex. Khufu's Great Pyramid is the largest, originally 146.6 meters in height and now 138.8 meters in height. Each side of the base is 230 meters long, made of about 2.3 million stone blocks measuring 2.5 tons each. It served as Khufu's tomb as well as a solar symbol, built in c. 2580 BCE. It contains the King's Chamber, Grand, Gallery, and other burial spaces. Khafre's Pyramid is the second largest, originally about 136.4 meters in height, and now appears taller due to higher bedrock and preserved casting stones. Built in c. 2570 BCE, it is associated with the Great Spinx. This pyramid includes a mortuary temple and valley temple.
