This statue is of kneeling giant from the right portion from the Gigantomachy pediment of the Old Temple of Athena on the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. This defeated giant is shown kneeling and collapsing forward in a dynamic, contorted posture typical of late-archaic architectural sculpture. This object is currently housed in the Acropolis Museum, Athens, Greece.
