Note

This is a fragment of an ancient Greek marble disc featuring a relief of a female's face, likely thought to be the goddess Aphrodite. It was discovered on the island of Milos (Melos), Greece. The subject's hair is bound into a knot, known as a sakkos, or an ancient type of hair net. This object is currently housed at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Greece.
