The manuscript seen here is a copy of Thomas Kepis' Meditations, with Prayers, on the Life and Loving Kindness of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Decoration

f. 1r: One decorated initial in gold with blue, red and embellished with gold leaf. f. 2r: Full-page border with blue and red floral pattern accented with green and red vegetal motifs. Includes one decorated blue and gold initial.

Binding

Original brown leather binding, repaired extensively with modern leather including new spine. Blind embossed animal figures (six) on front and back of original leather, pattern repeated twice on each side. Missing clasps.

Provenance

Bookplate inserted inside front cover: "Geddes MacGregor, D.D. / The Athenaeum / Pall Mall / London SW 1."
