Minor adjustments were made to the MusicXML file to ensure proper playback. The edits below were made to improve functionality while preserving the musical content.
- In Measures 1, 3, 5, 21, & 22, a 16th-note rest is not written in the manuscript but had to be added so the software could have the three 16ths on the offbeat.
- In measure 7, the written rhythm does not fit in 2/4, but there is no time signature change. The dotted quarter/quarter was turned into a dotted 8th/8th, and a 32nd rest was added.
- In measure 18, Helps notates two octaves above the pitch as 16ma alta. Typically, this is written as 15ma alta and is the only option in the software.
- In measure 23, the first note is written as a dotted quarter but is most likely meant to be a dotted 8th due to the absence of a time signature. change.
- In measures 31-34, the tied notation is synonymous with the manuscript, but it looks different, as I could not get it to write the notes as values that do not fit the time signature. The D at the bottom of the chord should be held, but the software is playing it as a separate note.
- In measures 40 & 42, the 8th notes in the right hand are missing their flags [written as quarter notes, which do not fit the time signature].
- In measures 46-47, multiple rests were added to match the time signature and the composer's intent.
- The final note is written as a whole note, but was changed to a dotted half to fit the time sig.
