Abstract
Presents a case report of attempts to upgrade clinical services and to use a psychosocial rehabilitation approach on 2 state mental hospital units. Success on one unit is compared and contrasted with failure on the other. Data on training variables and on the effect of the change efforts on ward atmosphere are reported, and factors that may have affected the different outcomes on the 2 units are discussed. (20 ref)
