Abstract
It is our belief that empirical test validation is highly important in selection research, and this type of validation requires that the criterion measures accurately depict the performance levels of organization members being assessed in the research. This is in part a measurement issue, with a focus on reliable and valid assessment of criteria. However, criterion measurement in test validation research is also a conceptual matter. It is critical to represent with the criterion measures all important performance requirements for the target job.
