Abstract

Part Four, "The Way to Alhambra" of Tony Pizzo's Tampa Series aired on WUSF in 1979. The episode included guest speakers Louise Farmer and E.D. Lambright and focused on Tampa history from 1882 to the early twentieth century. Included are mention of Henry B. Plant and the Tampa Bay Hotel (now a part of the University of Tampa) which was compared to the Alhambra in Grenada, Spain; the early social seasons in Tampa; Jose Gaspar; and the Gasparilla Festival.
